During my university studies, I realized that building a product, service or any tool was not just enough but you had to make it appealing as well as functional. At the end, everybody needs these services but the decision making process is often affected by product display or how you present it. Thus, I focused on web design even though my studies were on computer science. Yes, 2+2 makes 4 in engineering but not in design, almost no rules or more flexibility... That was in 2001.
So, I started my career as a design assistant. My task was correcting typos, creating new pages for existing websites. Repetitive tasks teach you an important lesson. First, someone has to do it. Second, you'd feel lucky if that person is not you but if you are fast and feel that you do that because you are actually keen on it, then you realize you could finish it quickly and learn other topics for more creative work. Therefore, I've been sharpening what I have learned so far and adding new ones to my skill set.
There is also one important thing that I'd like potential clients to know about me or the way I work on hourly based jobs. When I come across a new problem and I realize I need to read, learn or follow any tutorial, I stop the timer and grasp this new thing. If it takes a reasonable amount of time, then I apply this new skill for free and charge it for the next customer. I hope this is fair for everybody.

Payment Terms
Each projects requirement is different but to give a basic idea:
For less than $1000: 40% in advance, 30% on milestone/demo, 30% at final delivery
For more than $1000: 25-30% in advance, 25% at each milestone assuming there are 2, 20-25% at final delivery

Briefly, work starts as soon as we agree on terms and the necessary materials are delivered.
The web design service terms are basically :
*Meeting on necessary materials
*Delivery or purchase of materials
*Concept work and Confirmation
*Application of concepts for final layout
*Possible updates and fixes
*Final confirmation
For flash/ria application basic terms are :
*Meeting on featured application to fully understand the requirement and how-tos.
*Design of the application and confirmation which gives almost a complete idea about the backend of the final application
*Database or XML File design if necessary
*Programming
*Demo if possible
*Delivery
Any changes made after confirmation are subject to revise the terms.
