Born in the former USSR, Stan Vilensky immigrated to the US in 1990. Growing up in northwest-suburban Chicago, he was a goofy smartass with a penchant for know-it-allism. He is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois' newly-minted bioengineering bachelor's program. He currently works at the University of Chicago's Biophysics Core Facility as a research technician, but fancies himself a wordsmith, dataphile, and keen observer of the human condition. Outside of work, he keeps his fingers in many pies, gives as well as he gets, and hopes to one day make a significant contribution to the welfare, or at least the history, of his species.
