I create websites based on sound strategies and knowledge from my renowned Discovery Process. My design skills and experience allows me to create top-notch websites. My folks are zealots about 'em. The Brief
Once clients accept my Proposal, I start to accumulate information from my client which is the most important step. Either by a face to face interview or a questionnaire, this is where I establish the design brief. I try to understand my client very thoroughly before I get started.
Research
After molding the design brief, getting to know my clients business is the next crucial step in making a website successful. I conduct research on the industry itself, sometimes on its history, and on its competitors. If budgets allow, I also conduct external research by visiting locations.
Visual Research
This is research not into the clients business, but into the actual design style. This is where I seek out a look, a style, an approach or attitude, usually to attain a period or style that I am unfamiliar with, or to refresh myself with what is new or successful.
Sketching & Conceptualizing
I develop the website design concept(s) by using the design brief and the research conducted. When conceptualizing, I am mainly concerned with the graphic style and image of a piece while trying to convey deep meaning or some sort of visual puzzle. The website must have a big impact on the viewer. It must be unique and add a dimension to the experience and to the whole identity.
Reflection
Taking a break is as important as the physical research and the design brief. It is so easy to get stuck in a creative cul-de-sac and get tired of a project and this is why I take breaks often. By resting, my ideas mature and develop in the back of my head. When I go back to my project, I have renewed enthusiasm, insight and opportunity. This is also a good stage to get feedback from clients.
Presentation
This is where I present my work to the client. I always present 4 concepts to choose from with unlimited revisions. After clients are happy with the changes and revisions, I finalize the website design and prepare the final files for delivery in original source format.
