I have worked as both a programmer and a business analyst. My experience has provided me with excellent programming ability, but I also have more of a business background than a typical programmer might have. To be able to fully understand a project from the perspective of the end user has proven to be extremely valuable.
I have several years experience with different forms of Visual Basic (e.g. VB6, VBScript, MS Office VBA). I worked 2 years as a Microsoft Navision developer (now known as MS Dynamics NAV). I do a lot of database querying and reporting in Access and PeopleSoft/Oracle (SQL, PL-SQL, SQR). I have been able to improve/automate several processes for my employers.
