Before this, I was a Director at a medium sized web development firm, and I worked on projects for medium-sized to Fortune 500 companies; it was a lot of fun! I loved it there, but I decided that working with offshore development in the middle of the night was not a lifestyle I wanted to have.
I also found huge flaws with the myopic frugality inherent in working with offshore development. Sure, it's cheaper - initially, but, from my experience, you typically need to go through many iterations before getting exactly what you want - which is usually just not possible due to communication and cultural gaps - which left me wondering sometimes...is it really the best route? In marketing, you *REALLY* need to know your customers, and I rarely get that from offshore; it's just a different culture there, and most of them have never even been to the United States. For these reasons, I decided to start my own freelance business.
My expertise revolves around Marketing Strategy, Advertising, SEM, SEO, PPC, CPA (cost per action), eMail Marketing, Content Writing, Copywriting, Webinars, Social Media/Social Networking, Public Relations, Google Adwords, Talk Radio, etc etc...and I think it's all a blast. Payment Terms
Small short-term projects: 50 percent down, 50 percent on completion.
Larger projects: 30 percent down, 30 percent on approval of final, 40 percent on completion.
Long-term projects: Negotiable.
Except for repeat clients, escrow must be funded before work begins on project. Delays in escrow funding or release may result in late fees.
