Deloitte Consulting - Southeast Asia
2007-2007 - Consultant - Strategy & Operations Practice
As a Consultant with Deloitte Consulting, I specialized in the Strategy & Operations Practice and was active in several projects throughout Southeast Asia. These projects included performing strategy and HR due diligence for the equitization of a Vietnamese state-owned bank. Another major project analyzed value creation opportunities in Southeast Asia as a result of the global acquisition of a consumer goods division by a major multinational company.

U.S. Dept. of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics
2005-2007 - Economist - Producer Price Index Program
I began working as an Economist at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on the Energy Team within the Producer Price Index Branch of Industry Pricing. In this role, I reviewed microeconomic price data and system output to ensure index integrity in the Utilities sector. I also prepared and presented analysis on price trends in the Utilities sector in monthly meetings with senior management.
After holding that position for nearly one year, I moved to the Producer Price Index Section of Index Analysis and Public Information, where I identified the commodities driving changes in the index and analyzed economic trends in price data. Under strict deadlines, I also composed portions of the monthly PPI News Release, which analyzes price movements in the commodity indexes. Another responsibility of this role was to answer written and phone enquiries from the general public and the press, concerning methodological issues, economic analysis, data interpretation, and data limitations. These data users include investment bankers, accountants, procurement officers, consultants, lawyers, and journalists, and the analysis and interpretation of the data needed to be tailored to their specific needs. While working in this position, I wrote the Energy Goods section of "Price Highlights 2006," an article published in the economic journal Monthly Labor Review, July/August 2007 edition.
