I have been writing in Perl and VB for around 12 years, producing varied types of applications for either traditional deployment, or deployment of applications via a web interface.
I work with Windows, DOS, Linux, Solaris, IIS, Apache, Perl, VB6, some Java, XML, MYSQL, Oracle, MS Office and Open Office. Regularly work over VPN connections using Remote desktop or telnet connections.
I have a good understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols and have written a number of client / server applications. Also been involved in development of applications for Theatre use (a passion of mine), including MIDI, MIDI SHOW CONTROL (MSC), DMX512 and interfacing USB ports.
