Providers on Elance come from all over the world and from a wide range of industries. Today we're highlighting three newly hired providers: Xander Bennett, Maria Fernanda Cassias and Ross Glenn, who hail from Australia, Brazil and South Africa.

Xander Bennett, Writer
Xander is a writer from Australia with a background in film and television writing. He was recently awarded his first project on Elance and is excited to dive into this new found resource for freelance work.

In the past, Xander wrote episodes for television shows, eBooks for the game industry, scripts for comic books and original graphic novels. In fact, his first original graphic novel is to be released later this year.

“I'd consider Elance one of the best resources for freelance writers,” Xander said. “I wish I'd known about it years ago!”

Maria Fernanda Cassias, Web Designer
Another newly hired provider, Maria Fernanda, is a native of Brazil, and is a web designer with advertising expertise and a background in teaching web design. Maria founded her own advertising agency, Stoat, in 2004.

Maria recently stumbled upon Elance and marveled at the available work opportunities. “I have always wanted to work for international clients and now I have that chance,” Maria said. “I can even travel around the world and continue to work while I travel. It’s great that I don’t have to take a break from work.”

Ross Glenn, Software Programmer
Ross Glenn is a newly hired provider from South Africa who started his career as an electrician and transitioned into software development.

With this unconventional background for a software programmer, Ross worked quickly to gain experience so he could compete for software development positions. His hard work was soon rewarded when he landed a lead developer position and shortly after that was promoted to IT Manager.

Ross has personally written and managed software development projects for some of the largest insurance companies in the world, including AIG South Africa. Today, he owns a successful software development company and was recently awarded his first project on Elance, rewriting a online business directory website, which earned him more than $1500.

“Elance is my resource to build a reputable online profile and to extend my software development experience to various other markets,” Ross said.
