Job Description:
Elance is seeking an outstanding Marketing Director to manage its customer acquisition strategy and retention marketing programs. The Marketing Director will be responsible for the development of the overall strategy as well as the day-to-day implementation, management and optimization of plan tactics measured by customer acquisitions, conversions and increased product usage. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage an innovative pro-sumer lifecycle communication plan to help build awareness and drive customer acquisition and retention
- Refine the customer segmentation, acquisition and retention processes. Craft messaging based on customer industry, profession, organization type and usage patterns
- Use a variety of channels including paid search, online display advertising, affiliate and referral programs as well as traditional media and emerging channels to drive traffic, customer acquisition and customer retention
- Oversee SEM keyword portfolio strategy including bid optimization, ad copy, tracking codes and analysis and reporting of results
- Write creative briefs and work with designers to create display advertising campaigns, track results and manage accordingly
- Team with Product and Engineering to manage, track and optimize traffic and acquisitions from SEO
- Launch and test new landing pages to increase our customer conversion rates
- Manage events across the country to attract and engage our customers, including tradeshows and roadshows
- Manage creative affiliate and referral programs to drive customer acquisition
- Create, launch and mange an innovative customer lifecycle program that retains top customers
- Track and manage overall acquisition marketing spend to monthly budget allocation. Measure ROI for various campaigns and channels and make adjustments accordingly.
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience managing online customer acquisition programs, including PPC campaigns across all major search engines
- Hands on experience managing outside vendors and contractors
- Strong analytical skills to test, measure, refine and report on the impact of marketing programs
- Results-oriented, great attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines
- Must possess strong project management skills and excel at juggling many projects at once
- Ability to draw insights from research on the underlying motivations of customer behaviors
- Solid Excel experience including pivot tables, macros, etc.
- Experience with Google Analytics and optimizing PPC accounts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive, fun, flexible and creative
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
