How do I pay a service provider with my credit card?

As a buyer, you can use Visa, MasterCard or American Express to make payments to your provider. In order to make payments to providers, your credit card will need to be authenticated through Elance. Click here for more information on credit card authentication.

If you prefer to pay your provider using PayPal, you may not need to authenticate your credit card. Click here for more information on using PayPal at Elance.

To make a credit card payment to your provider:

1. Go to MyElance. If you are not logged in, enter your Elance username and password.

2. If you have not done so already, add your credit card to your Elance account by going to the 'My Account' page and clicking the 'Enter New Credit Card' button. You must place a check mark in the box called "Yes, I want to authenticate my credit card" to initiate the authentication process. Click here for more information on credit card authentication.

3. Once you have completed the authentication process, go to your Buyer Activity page.

4. Click the "Payment" or "New Invoice" icon located in the Make Payment column for the applicable project.

5. Enter the payment amount in the field called "Payment Amount."

6. Select your credit card as the payment method and follow the prompts.
