What is the credit card verification number?
Elance asks for the Card Verification number on your credit card as a security measure, to help ensure the card is being used by the correct owner of the card. We do not record this number anywhere in our database, and we only ask for it the first time you enter your credit card.
American Express cards have a 4 digit card verification number printed on the front of the card, above the credit card number.
Mastercard and Visa have a 3 digit card verification number printed on the back of the card, usually on the signature line. It will be the last 3 digits on the signature line.
