How do I deposit funds to MyElance Account by check?
Elance has a feature that allows you to deposit funds to your Elance Account's available balance via check. Your check MUST be in U.S. dollars and drawn on a bank physically located within the United States.
On the check, include your username and Elance Account Number. Your Elance Account Number is displayed at the top of your Account page beginning with the letters ‘EL’ and followed by a string of numbers.
Note to Service Providers: To pay a membership fee, include the words ‘membership payment’ on your check. Failure to do so may result in your funds being allocated to current or future project fees instead. Once your check has been processed, a ‘Set Default Payment’ link will appear next to your Elance Account available balance. Click on that link to indicate that you wish to use your available balance to pay your membership fees.
Make your check payable to: ‘Elance, Inc.’
Mail the check to our merchant bank account at:
Elance, Inc.
3317 Collections Center Drive
Chicago, IL 60693
Your check will be posted to your Elance Account ‘available balance’ screen as soon as possible, but time elapsed may vary depending on your location.
