Does Elance provide paperwork for taxes based on MyElance activity?
If you are a buyer based in the U.S., you can ask Elance to prepare U.S. tax form 1099 if you use Elance Escrow as your payment method. Elance will then ask U.S. service providers who bid on your project to file U.S. tax form W-9.
Elance does not withhold taxes for any member in any country.
Please consult a local tax professional for more information about what income is taxable and the procedures for reporting it.
