What is the difference between a Bid Placed and a Prebid?

A service provider’s bid proposal includes their comments, suggested fee for the project, general approach to the project, relevant experience and skills, when the project can be delivered and samples of relevant work.  The service provider uses the same number of Connects for Prebids as they would for a bid.  You may choose to award, shortlist or decline the service provider’s proposal.

Service providers who need clarification from you in order to submit an accurate suggested fee may place a Prebid.  A Prebid will not include the service provider’s amount or comments.   Instead, when a Prebid is submitted, the Private Message Board (PMB) will be initiated, and the service provider may discuss the project details with you.  Please respond to a provider’s PMB inquiries quickly so they can submit an amount before the project’s bidding period ends.  Once the bidding period ends, they will not be able to enter in an amount.

Once you choose a bid proposal, the service provider will submit Business Terms for your review and approval.
