What is the MyElance Buyer Activity page?

Elance provides a feature to buyers to track their project activity. Use your Buyer Activity page to monitor bids on the projects you post, communicate with service providers, and pick a winning service provider, collaborate on your project, pay a service provider, and leave feedback on your experience with that service provider.

On your Buyer Activity page, for each project, you will see the following information:

Project Name

Each active project has a linked project name for your reference. Click on the project name to view bids, view project description, choose winning bids or change the bidding controls for your project.

Status

The status of your project will be displayed on the Buyer Activity page.  If the status of the project shows:

    * Bidding Open - your project is open for bidding. Service providers are studying the project and submitting bids to do the work. To see how the bidding is going, click on the project name.
    * "Bidding Closed" the bidding period is now over. It's time for you to select a winner or open the bidding up again to receive more bids.
    * Expired - the bidding period has been closed for over 150 days and you will not have the option to award the project.
    * Waiting for Response - an email has been sent to the service provider that you selected. The service provider must now accept the project before the transaction can proceed. You will be notified by email when the service provider accepts the job.
    * Seller Modified Business Terms - then click the 'Review Business Terms' link and review the service provider's updated terms.  Scroll towards the bottom of the page and click 'Accept' or 'Modify' or 'Decline' the business terms.
    * Service Provider Has Declined - the service provider is unable to accept the project. At this point you can select a new winner from among the other bidders, or cancel it.
    * Project Accepted - this message means that your service provider can begin work on the project. At this point several things happen: The service provider's email is displayed on the Buying Activity page. You have access to Work Space, a collection of tools for file-sharing, online chat with your service provider, and a shared calendar for scheduling reminders, deadlines and meetings. A private message board lets you communicate freely with the provider through the Elance site. Work begins on the project.
    * Finished - the project is complete. You rated the quality of work you received from the service provider to help other buyers make informed decisions in future transactions.

Bids

Link to the bid review section of where you can review bids and choose a service provider to complete your project. In addition, you can operate the bidding controls.

Work with Service Provider

Displays the username of the Elance service provider selected for the services you need. If you are running a project and you have not picked a winner yet, this area will be blank. Once you select a winner and the service provider accepts, an email address will be displayed beneath the username.  You can then send private messages (PMB) to the service provider and use the work space for file sharing.

Make Payment

You can pay the service provider and once they invoice you.

Leave Feedback

You can leave feedback on your experience working with that service provider for that project.
