Where do I find sample contracts?
Elance encourages you to formalize contract terms and conditions before accepting business terms.
If you would like sample contract terms and conditions, click here to download a generic contract.
You will need to edit the generic contract, save as a .doc file on your computer, and upload it to your PMB (Private Message Board) before accepting Business Terms.
A contract is where you include language for warranty and/or guarantee terms, intellectual property / copyright clauses, confidentiality agreements, detailed milestone delivery dates, and payment dates.
You can also post a project in our Legal category to have a custom contract designed for your business. Elance does not guarantee work. Buyers and service providers must negotiate those terms with each other before proceeding to work on a project.
*Make sure that both parties include their names, business names, business addresses and phone numbers in the header and signature lines of the contract, and upload it as an attachment to the PMB (Private Message Board).
