You could say Rebecca Stigall (username: ForewordCommunications) was born to write. She spent most of her formative years in education programs focused on writing and research, and as you would expect, wrote for her school papers. Even in college, she was to the go-to girl for editing projects for her close friends.

Now as a newly hired provider, she continues her twenty plus years as a freelance writer on Elance. Learn more about Rebecca’s Elance journey in her own words:
“My work on Elance began as a way to supplement the income I receive from my private clients and as a way to begin the move from traditional freelancing to virtual freelancing exclusively,” said Rebecca. “But it has quickly grown to rival the income I was bringing in from other sources. As a single mom, that’s pretty important!”
“Because, throughout the years, my writing work has entered so many different arenas, and because I’m as much enthralled with the research process as I am with the writing itself, I’ve had the opportunity to spread my writing wings on Elance. There’s just such a wide variety of writing projects!”
“I’ve met some great employers here on Elance,” Rebecca added. “Some can’t afford me now but have indicated that they’d love to work with me in the future. I believe that, as service providers, it’s just as important to build a basis for future relationships as it is to foster the ones with the employers we’re working with now. It’s all part of the job.”
How does Rebecca successfully get hired for jobs on Elance?
“The trick is to find the employer with the right budget that fits your needs as a provider,” said Rebecca. “For me, that means finding the projects I’m most interested in doing and working within the budget as much as possible."
