Newly hired providers Jafar Tamal Sadiq and Harish Kattunga recently discovered Elance as a resource for finding 3D modeling work.

Tamal’s journey started in Bangladesh while Harish’s started in India – and although they’ve never met, they complete the same types of projects on Elance.

Both Tamal and Harish have been interested in the arts since an early age. For Tamal, it was the prizes he won in junior art competitions in Bangladesh that motivated his interest in this field. For Harish, it was the special graphics-based films that his father took him to see in India that sparked his interest. Each of them, motivated in their own ways, spent the next years of their lives working towards becoming experts in 3D graphics.

Today, Tamal works full-time as a 3D modeler for a local small business but also works part-time developing his own business, V Talk Studios, by taking on projects through Elance.

“My full-time job keeps me pretty busy,” Tamal explained. “But it’s competing for projects on Elance that keeps me feeling challenged.”

Tamal continues to challenge himself every day with projects on Elance. “There are so many talented and highly qualified providers on Elance. This motivates me to learn more and work harder to achieve the same feats they have achieved,” Tamal said. “I worked hard to get my skills up to this level so that I could finally work alongside other great providers on Elance.”

Like Tamal, Harish also found work in the 3D Graphics industry as a Senior Animator. While working full-time, he joined Elance in 2004, but recently quit his full-time job to focus his energy on elancing.

“I was working a lot at my full-time job and was unable to spend the amount of time I wanted to spend on Elance,” Harish explained. “I thought, why not quit my job and earn more by working individually on projects through Elance?”

Now an active member, Harish is submitting proposals and working full-time on projects he finds through Elance. “Elance has been so easy to use – there are so many opportunities waiting for me here,” Harish said. “Elance has made it so easy for me to manage and handle everything on my own – the bidding, communicating through private messages, managing payments and setting up my profile and portfolio.”
