Since you have my literature review the issue I want to write about in this assignment is image making through communication with my focus on girls and women. I thought you may be able to use some of what I have for guidance in this assignment.
Here is what I need help with:
Write a research proposal using the topic image making through communication with focus on girls and women. Use social comparison theory in relation to body image. I will be do a content analysis of ads and magazines and will also need to use more specific variables that can be measured.
The proposal should be at least 10 double-spaced pages beginning with a title page.
The 'Introduction' section of your research proposal should explain the topic and clearly state the research question. A rationale should be provided describing the importance of the research and the purpose. The rationale should be a few paragraphs.
The 'Review of Literature' section should contain your discussion of a minimum of ten articles that have been previously published relating to your research question. You should look for a combination of peer-reviewed sources, trade publications, newspaper articles, and credible websites. In your review of the literature, be certain to provide parenthetical citations for each source. Where possible, you should refrain from using direct quotes. Instead, you will paraphrase the information in your own words. Your review should consist of approximately six pages of discussion.
The 'Methodology' section should describe the quantitative design methodology of either survey or content analysis. If you select survey methodology, you will need to complete an IRB application to survey human subjects. Because content analysis does not involve interviewing people, no IRB approval is needed. In this section you must clarify how you plan to (a) measure your variables, (b) collect the data and (c) analyze the data. Additionally, you should specify how you plan to disseminate your findings. Will you submit them as a paper to a conference or journal?
The 'References' section should contain the APA reference listing of all sources used. It should consist of approximately one page.
Refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for APA style formatting. Generally, your research proposal is double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 pt. font. Parenthetical citations should include the author's last name and date of publication. Any quoted material will be cited with the author's last name, the date of publication, and the page number in the source. The reference list is also double-spaced with a 'hanging' indent.
Your proposal will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
•Is the paper properly formatted in APA style? Is it double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 point font? Does it contain a title page and section headings for the introduction, literature review, etc? (Consult your textbook for appropriate APA style section headings.).
•Does the introduction present the research purpose and identify the fundamental research question(s)?.
•Does the literature review support the rationale for the study?.
•Are parenthetical citations used to note the sources for all material discussed in the literature review?.
•Are all sources discussed in the paper listed in the references section of the paper? Are they presented in proper APA style? Is the list double-spaced with a hanging indent? (Consult the textbook.).
•Is quoted material appropriate? For example, are there too many quotes from authors that would be better presented by paraphrasing the information?.
•Is quoted material properly cited? Does the citation include the author, date, and page or paragraph number? (Consult the textbook.).
•Does the paper review at least ten sources as part of the literature review? Is there an appropriate combination of peer-reviewed sources and other sources for the topic?.
•Does the paper contain a methodology section that explains
