Writing MCAT-style Physics/Chem/Biochem Practice Content
We're looking for a writer to develop practice MCAT passages. These questions should cover any of the science topics in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics for that section of the exam. You should be comfortable relating these topics in some way to biology (e.g. forces applied by muscles; biochem-related organic chemistry questions).
Our typical compensation is $80 per passage depending on the number of questions in the passage and their quality. Significant raises available to writers who can demonstrate consistent, solid quality. We measure quality by the amount of editing work that we don't have to do upon receipt!
For this job, you'll need to write the passages as well as 5-7 questions based on the information in the passage. Each question should come with the correct answer as well as an appropriate explanation of why the correct answer is correct in the context of the incorrect answers.
Attached are the following files:
1. Chem & Physics Topics.pdf -- this lists all of the acceptable topics for the passages; each passage should be multidisciplinary, tying together various concepts.
2. Chem & Physics Samples.pdf -- this has two exemplary samples of the quality we're seeking.
3. Passages Guidelines.pdf -- this outlines the core format that each passage should follow including very important things to avoid as well as very important things that must be included in all passages.
Please review these documents carefully before beginning any work.
The other major requirement is that all the content is original and that we would own all copyright to the content produced. Any outside references (e.g. studies used as a basis for the passage) should be properly cited. We'd like to establish a working relationship with the writer, so there will be more work like this in the future if you are interested. We would also offer competitive raises periodically to continue that relationship.
For now we are asking for 2 passages with 5-7 questions each, from the subject of your choice. I have attached sample questions to give an idea of what we are expecting, as well as the syllabus for the physical sciences for testable information.
Thank you and please contact me with any questions!
