I excelled in the sub prime market in a couple of auto finance companies who did not suffer financially when the bubble burst; this was because of an understanding of lending and collecting. Maximizing margins whilst minimizing (not eliminating) risk. Neither are difficult if you stick to some basic principles of which there are very few - no matter what some academics might tell you.
