Not only do I love language(s) - many do. But I love to work with words, sentences, structures, text fragments to make your text the most effective it could be! Usually, I work with students of all backgrounds to make their academic arguments come across in their papers/theses. But I expanded my endeavour to all kinds of texts - be it commercial, literature texts. One of my favourites are children books - as their messages are usually very easy to understand but always entertaining to read (which is not necessarily true for all academic texts)! Having lived in (the English-speaking part of) Canada, I especially adore the English language and translate in the direction: English-German (my mother tongue). Although I am native-like in English, I do know as a linguist that there are many nuances of a language (and especially the English one) that I would only offer this kind of translation.

My interest in media began with making zines at the age of 9 and distributing them in the neighbourhood. Throughout my teenage years, I wrote articles for both the high school and regional newspaper, as well as my own music zine. I eventually became editor-in-chief for the school paper and literary magazine, and won awards for my journalistic, poetic and creative writing (as well as music performances). In my first year of college, I co-started a music television show that also had a channel on YouTube and included guests such as Underoath, Paramore, The Kin, Mutemath, The Bravery, Mayday Parade and more -- I handled everything from setting up interviews to shooting footage to putting all the packages together for broadcast. The show was so successful it became a part of the curriculum and won awards. I also ran my own radio programme. I continued writing after college and was an intern for the Asbury Park Press and In Jersey Magazine. I married, moved abroad, and am ready to work!
