I am highly creative, even earning a Creativity in English award during my college years, and I'm always up for the challenge of new works! I developed my writing, editing, and proofreading skills throughout high school, and honed those skills in college. Dozens of students brought me their essays, proposals, and seminar papers to improve clarity, organization, and structure. I am an excellent employee, always striving for top-quality performance. I am not only highly motivated, but creative, thorough, and honest. I believe in the power of words, and elegance of the English language!

Intelligent, caring, and professional proofreading, copyediting and developmental editing for your non-fiction manuscript or academic journal paper, book chapter, thesis or dissertation. Like fiction, non-fiction and academic writing have a story to tell, even if that story is a narrative, argument or theory based on research and fact. I help the author in eliciting the thread of that narrative by, for instance, shifting the order of chapters, rearranging content within a chapter, or suggesting rewrites for transitional sentences between passages. My goals as an editor are to support the author's voice, argument or thesis by clarifying structure and content in addition to managing the mechanics of editing, such as spelling, grammar, and formatting errors.

I have left five years in the fitness industry as a fitness manager and Certified Health Coach to pursue a full-time career as a writer, so all projects I take on will receive intense, professional and creative attention. http://jryoungwriter.com
Novelist, Fiction / Non-Fiction
Inspired by my students and my role as an elementary school teacher, I began writing for children some years ago. Since then my work has appeared in educational markets in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. My work has been used by publishers such as Pearson Education, Nelson U.S.A, Random House, Learning Media, and Essential Resources. I have over two dozen short stories in print or currently in production aimed at a school-aged audience. As a teacher my passion in the classroom is to instil a love of literature amongst my students, and my writing stems from that drive. Simply put: I want children to read, and to believe in themselves as writers. My background in education and many years experience in the classroom have given me a strong insight into how children approach English.
Multi-published author of historical fiction and numerous non-fiction articles.
I graduated from James Madison University in 2013 with a major in Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. I am an excellent CAD drafter and technical writer by trade. As a side hobby, I am a blog/social media content writer who is well versed in a variety of topics. I enjoy research, technical subjects, current trends, humorous spins on stories, fiction and non-fiction genres, et cetera. I have a broad range of skills/interests; so, if there is a project in any of these fields feel free to inquire, and I'll make sure to evaluate my abilities for each case. I will only take on projects I can complete efficiently and to my own high standards. I take pride in my work.
I am available to write, fiction and non-fiction, and edit any type of document.
I am a children's author dealing in both fictional stories or non fiction material. My non-fiction material has, thus far, been to do with education and this is my background. I have created many educational resources in the past, particularly around the subject of French, which is one of my specialisms. The fiction book I have written is a school story with the protagonist being a young girl who joins a school along with a group of other new girls... and the adventures begin!

I am an avid outdoorsman and a professional conservationist. I have been a writer practically my whole life, though not professionally. Writing has always been my muse, and I have an ear for what sounds right on paper. I am quick to catch grammatical and typographical errors and have no tolerance for them in my own writing, even if it's just a field journal entry. In my full time job, I'm the go-to person for written stories or articles and I'm always the proofreader for others' work. I'm a regular columnist for The Hawk Eye, Iowa's oldest newspaper. My column, "The Living Land" focuses on outdoors and conservation-related issues. I've written countless press releases and newspaper articles, I have a few magazine features to my credit, and I'm an efficient researcher able to familiarize myself with subjects quickly.
I write short to medium length punch-packing stuff. Explosive intros, business bios, marketing captions and brochures. I also do short stories to medium length fiction and non-fiction texts.
