I am very passionate about doing things right the first time. I want my tasks to be done on time and correct so that customers whether they be internal or external have positive experiences with everything I have created.
My technological career focuses on UI/UX design and implementation, project management and technical product management. Notable projects include the NetScape 8.x series Browser, OpenStack/Python development with Piston Cloud Computing and guiding the TwistedThrottle.coms transition from a legacy e-commerce platform to Magento. ??Most often I am an organizations "glue", bridging the communications gap between the engineering, design and marketing. Between technology outings, I operate the motorcycle media outlet OneWheelDrive.Net and the automotive review site OutDrive.ca. Both sites have honed my marketing and communications skills serving my more formal professional life.
The internet is a complex machine that requires education, experience, and all around knowledge of client and server-side technologies in order to be effective as a web developer. It is for this reason I dont focus on just front-end or back-end, doing so would degrade my effectiveness. I have a much better understanding of bridging the gap between the areas to create maintainable and dynamic communications.
Since 1997 I have been involved in the internet industry and actively participated in various aspects, becoming a knowledgeable developer and entrepreneur in interactive UI, multimedia services and frameworks. Lately, I am focused on creating software and web applications delivering streaming content to electronic devices, such as iPhones, iPod & iPads, Droid devices, Blackberry or Symbian devices. In the past, I worked in different environments, from small start-up companies to large firms and a government organization. I possess a solid track record of leading and motivating fellow web engineers and professionals in order to achieve high levels of performance. I intend to continue this practice long into the future.
I have been working as a Web Developer using Python and Django. Mostly experienced in back-end programming with experience in using Non-Relational Databases (NoSQL) for building scalable solutions and deploying on the Cloud. I'm a Linux monkey, I've been using Linux since 2005 and I have a very good experience in software development under Linux/Unix, Linux Administration, Configuration and Shell Scripting. I'm interested in Cloud Computing, I used both VMware's Cloud Foundry and Amazon's EC2 for deploying highly-scalable solutions. I also contributed to Cloud Foundry project on Git Hub. I always use Revision Control Systems, mostly Git and Mercurial, but I also use SVN. I also have some experience in these technologies: Java MySQL, Oracle and SQLite Database Qt/PyQt GUI library iPhone and Android development
I have 10 years experience in web programming spanning a number of languages and platforms. I specialise in Ecommerce, Bespoke calculators, customer interaction interfaces, and advanced record management. I aim to become to the number 1 choice in the UK for bespoke Ecommerce solutions and bespoke addons for current Ecommerce packages. Currently working with a barcoded system and customer loyalty system for small retailers.
A 19 year old from the United Kingdom working in the startup world. I currently work at GoCardless (https://gocardless.com), an innovative payments startup, where I operate and optimise customer support and other customer-facing activities, as well as providing the core interface between the development team and the needs of customers. I studied at the Coopers Company and Coborn School in Upminster, Essex where I achieved two A*s and one A at A Level in Politics, French and Economics respectively. After finishing, I attended University College London studying European Social and Political Studies before leaving after around 6 months in February. I hope to return to university again in future. Whilst in education, I had a number of jobs, from the more traditional (for instance at Boots) to those in technology (like working as a developer evangelist for YCombinator startup Taskforce).
