iframe dhtml jquery survey popups
When page of content loads, randomly assign visitor to one of two groups A and B.
Group A would see single-question dhtml survey box that partially obscures content that visitor was about to read (actual survey question is pulled from separate domain and results are posted to that domain; thus, the need for iframe).
Group B would, in contrast, be given time to read content on page. But then, after 30 seconds, a dhtml survey box appears showing a brief survey, probably at top of page over something that visitor has already read. Ideally, the user can move this box but, in any case, box should stay on screen if user subsequently scrolls. (In a perfect world, Group B's survey box would appear just as visitor was leaving page, but such event-based timing may not be feasible with dhtml.)
Survey tool/questions already exist. Draft script (without jquery) already exists. Challenges so far: initial position of group-b box varies too much (is sometimes truncated) and, on some browsers, it doesn't float, i.e., it appears "stuck" at the initial position on page where it first appears.
