“By far one of my worst experiences on eLance over the last 5 years. The provider effectively 'sold' me that she was equipped to be productive on our campaign. We've had previous calling campaigns with decent results and decided to find a 'sales pro' that could increase productivity. The provider refused to have her calls recorded and I didn't mind because I trusted she would be ethical. Needless to say, that was a huge mistake. We utilized SalesForce CRM and the number of calls claimed by the provider NEVER matched up with SalesForce (ever). Her response was to blame SalesForce. The provider sent me a list of 16 'hot leads' that were supposedly close to converting and after reviewing their accounts in SalesForce, we noticed that the provider had made no actual contact with decision makers or office managers other than notes saying Left Message or Not Available. To make matters worse, the provider blamed our lack of email automation as the reason for her poor results. Ah yes, the results, after 3 weeks of calls and claims of making 600 calls + 16 hot leads, the provider racked up a total of (you guessed it) 0 conversions. That's right, 0. And the reason for the 0 conversions according to her was due to a lack of email automation and the cold lead list. Though she was hired to make cold calls, the provider (after 3 weeks) claimed that we should conduct better research on cold leads (though that's what she was hired for). It was impossible to get her on the phone and though the model she sells in quality over quantity, she clearly attempts to work with multiple clients simultaneously and makes very careless mistakes along the way. When questioned about the lack of notes to back up her claims for 'hot leads', the provider refused to respond. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I'm no fan of providers that waste time and money from hard working entrepreneurs. I wish Elance provided the ability to upload screenshots so everyone could see the discrepancies.”
Freelancer Feedback Comments for Client:
“Thank you for you valuable feedback.
This was a very unfortunate situation and the only ''less than 5 star'' review I''ve ever received for my work here on Elance. So I maintain that my reputation and professional expertise speak for themselves.
I guaranteed to make a certain amount of calls per week - that is all. Here are my results and what I did for this client in three weeks (only charged him for two due to an ER that only required 2 days away from the campaign):
Total calls made = 602
Cold Leads Contacted = 203
Warm Leads Generated = 20% (above 3% industry standard)
Hot Leads Generated *= 29%
Not Interested**= 30%
I also helped with his telemarketing script which was too long for a 1st call that Donald approved (it was focused on selling/ not setting an appt or fact finding before I revised it). I also reviewed all of his email marketing and provided valuable feedback so he could begin implementing an email marketing campaign per his request. After the first week, I developed a telemarketing work flow, at his reques, as well to help current and future sales processes. I was never asked for my notes eventhough I volunteered them and we had several conversations via email, Elance and phone so I was more than available and willing to have my calls recorded just not with the software system he uses as it is not approved by my IT Consultant for securtiy deficits.
My only comment regarding this Client is that he states he doesn''t leave bad reviews but if you take the time to check his profile, this seems to be common (something I should have investigated more closely before accepting the project).
Lastly, this Client had no problem with me or my performance at week 1 or after week 2/3 as he originally funded escrow for week 4 to continue, until I suggested we part ways at which time he began harrassing me and I had to report him to Elance for doing so.
I wish you the best with your business endeavors.”
