I want you to read the story to make sure you aren't offended by it. As you know, I am Jewish. Very culturally Jewish, but reformed when it comes to all the ritual stuff. I like to poke fun in a woody allen kind of way, and there are a few, light jokes making fun of Bris's and common Jewish ...
yes!!! flamingos is crucial. i am calling the book "Flamingos Don't Wear Bathing Suits" so there is a good chance that it could be the first poem of the book! but dont get me started on page placement... It's so daunting! It's like putting together an album. And as a musician, I think you know what I mean. Track 1 kicks it off. then by the middle y...
“Once again, Ronna has proven herself as the best editor on elance. And I should know, I have had my issues with a lot of people on this site, but Ronna is the one person I keep coming back to. For poetry, it is nice to have a fellow poet edit. Throughout the course of our multiple projects, I have grown as a writer. Ronna has built up my confidence, and as a result, I have just finished the painstakingly daunting first book.
I am already looking forward to working with her again. Can't say enough good things. She knows her stuff. She replies immediately to any message, email, or edit you need for the day. And she goes above and beyond the job of an editor. She gives input and suggestions that helped me to make some of my weaker poems into my best. She knows good concepts when she sees it, and encourages you to keep working at it. This last project was a major success for a lot of reasons, the biggest being that it really showed visible improvements in my work between pre and post Ronna. I don't want to overdo it. But I really can't say enough... She's great. I'm a picky customer, so believe me when I say: Accept her bid! The best bang for your book on all of elance. And you better hurry before the good word spreads and she starts charging more! Thanks again Ronna. As always.”
“Wow! Thanks for that review. I wrote my feedback before the client wrote his, so I just wanted to say thank you to the client. I am so excited to have been part of this project and I am thrilled that it's going to be published. Thank you for giving me the privilege of editing your terrific work.”
“This client is always a pleasure to work with. I am happy to see the project is going to be published and I am happy to have been a part of it as the editor. I have seen people react defensively to edits and it''s understandable. Nevertheless, it''s always a pleasure working with someone who understands the editing process and who understands that I''m trying to help tighten things up, whether it''s poetry or prose. This client understands why edits were made, and if there was something he disagreed with, we discussed it through emails. Sometimes I gave him other choices for the edits, which he usually accepted. Working with this client has been a rewarding experience, as always.”
Need a creative and talented editor for a short story and a few poems.
Skills: creative writing, editing
“Once again, Ronna has come through for me with flying colors. I love having Ronna as my editor. I highly endorse her to anyone reading this who is on the fence about which bid to take. Choose Ronna! This is my second time using her in a month! And I went through others before I found her. Ronna leaves sufficient notes, suggestions, ideas, and goes way beyond the call of duty for her clients. There are a few categories where I would like to give her six stars instead of five.
Ronna, thank you for another successful and enjoyable project together. ”
“Thanks for such a terrific review. This client is amazing. He accepts edits with grace. I've seen his writing develop in a very short time into material that can be published. His poems are terrific and he absorbs everything thrown his way. Anyone who works for this client is lucky indeed. Great working with this client again!”
The job is fairly simple. There is a collection of humorous poems that needs a very simple edit. Mostly an editor who will comment on anything that does not read well rhythmically or does not make sense. Also, punctuation.
If you live in the Atlanta area then PLEASE contact me. If not, so long as you have a strong knowledge of the English language...
“I cannot say enough good things about Ronna. Working with her was an absolute pleasure. It's rare to find an editor you can trust with your work, but after using Ronna, I wouldn't think about using anyone else on elance. She goes above and beyond the role of editor, with very thorough notes and suggestions. Not to mention, she works very, very quickly. Ronna has solid self esteem, and doesn't feel the need to put a hundred suggestions if its good enough as is, and whatever work she does change makes it even better. Her honesty is constructive and helpful. My book would have been way too long with too much fluff without her honest feedback. I could go on, but I will sum up by saying this - if you want someone who will really care about your work, commit fully to your work, and deliver it on time (if not sooner) then pick Ronna. She knows her stuff.
“Thank you for that wonderful review. This client is also a pleasure to work for, and I hope to work for him again. Not only was he clear about what he wanted, but he accepted edits with grace and with complete understanding. He was available re: communication, and he was pleasant and easy to work for. If he offers any jobs to the community on Elance, contractors would be lucky to work for him. He will clarify anything you need. He will not give you a single problem. I wanted to do my best for him, as I would for any client. I know he wants to write more poems, and I'm glad I was able to encourage his natural talent. If you get a chance to work for him, do so. You won't be sorry!”
