While planning a trip to Napa three years ago, it became apparent that there is no reliable, comprehensive and discriminating source of information to help wine tourists (20M+ annually) choose which wineries to visit. There are numerous regional sites but most are not comprehensive and do not provide any indication as to the quality of the experience or the product. My intent is to create a reliable, comprehensive nationwide directory of wineries that provides users the ability to find wineries based on 1) amenities, 2) winemaking practices, 3) viticulture practices, 4) user reviews, 5) location and 6) expert opinion regarding the product produced.
About Me: I have a BS in political science (fitting) , a masters in technology management, several years of experience as a program manager, an obvious interest in wine, but no programming expertise.
I contracted with a company three years ago to build the site within six months. Three years later I decided enough was enough. The site is fairly well developed (initially on Drupal and then mostly ported over to Django) and I have all the data, but there are a number of things (50+) that donít work. In addition to fixing the broken parts, I am looking for someone to help me identify and implement other technologies and features necessary to make the site a success.
