“The total project was to upgrade the Joomla to 2.5. I went with Elance and this supplier thinking it would be a fraction of the price i was quoted by top professionals in Sweden. (All this was my assumptions--i made the mistake of neither giving or asking for a time frame or budget.) The price worked out to be the same, yet it took 10 times as long as the Swedes estimated. We had to do much of the error searching ourselves, and we ended up with a virus. We were not always immediately responsive, which accounts for some of the delay. All in all, my experience with Elance has been below my experiences with IT people outside--and those have not been good. I guess the competent professionals are hired by the big companies paying the big bucks. Don't be fooled by the pleasantness of the freelancers on Elance (or elsewhere)-- they can say, "Yes, yes, yes," and not understand anything. ”
“Client is saying - " We were not always immediately responsive, which accounts for some of the delay." He awarded us the project on Mar 30th, 13 and give us a copy of the site on June 28th, 13 which means he took around 3 months time to give us the site copy. After that he was missing from July 20th, 13 to Oct 28th 13. On this he is saying that - there were some delay from his end. Strange!!!!
We gave him the upgraded site and he took 2 months time to set it up on his server. He never gave us his server access details. We have no clue about the virus attack. We have never worked on his server and our upgraded site copy was virus free - I have no clue why he is blaming us for virus.
Here client has mentioned that the quote from his local professionals was same as that of what the cost of this project has come here, while he has told us 5 times that the cost of this project has become 3 times from what his local candidate has quoted. Not sure whether he is telling lie now or was telling a lie before.
I"LL RECOMMEND TO AVOID THIS CLIENT.”
