“Many companies have been damaged by this types of customers and we wonīt be that last ones, still I believe that Elance should take care of this situations, not just replying to us "write to this email" when the customer will be able to damage us with a bad review and take down many years of work we have done so far... thats just not fair, that a person can take down all the hard work you apply to your projects to provide the best of it.
We have a high rating with over 5 years working on Elance and it only takes a BAD RATING to destroy the profile and leave us without any projects/work.
Elance DOENSīT take care of the companies, the customer does anything he wants with us, if he want to pay, good but if he doesnīt the only ones that have to go though this process without having any specific information on how to avoid this situation, without somebody saying, PLEASE SEND OVER AN EMAIL TO THIS SO THEY CAN HELP YOU, and get the same response, like nothing happens and its ok whats going on so far. If we win the dispute, the customer will come back with a bad review, and as you know, a bad review will destroy any profile, no matter how good it is.
A profile under 4.8 its useless, do not provide Jobs. Therefore, the only way that we can solve this situation is that the customer keeps on having free work.
Here is a copy of our complaint to Elance, about how the customers take advantage based on Elanceīs rules to destroy companies, profiles and nobody help us.
ELANCE, IM REQUESTING TO HELP ME WITH THIS MATTER PLEASE
MY COMPANY HAS OVER 5 YEARS WORKING HERE AND KEEPING A GOOD RATING, YOU WILL BE WITNESS ON HOW THIS CUSTOMER WILL DESTROY MY PROFILE.
WE HAVE GIVEN A LOT OF FREE WORK, AND WE CANīT DO THIS ANYMORE, WE ARE HAVING GREAT LOSSES, IT IS NOT THE FIRST CUSTOMER THAT DOES IT, WE ARE BEING BLACKMAILED AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AND ALL THIS IS HAPPENING UNDER ELANCEīS RULES.
Many customers on Elance play with this rule, the only way to DELETE a bad review is that a freelancer refund all the money.
We are tired that Elance wont protect us againts this kind of injustice. On the board we have a 5 year profile with well done projects and effort of our company, and we are not willing to give away our work once again.
Now we are spending time and money to do dispute and we are willing to keep on spending on all of this process and requirements it takes just to show that this customer is just looking to take advantage of the system and stealing our work. We will do everything possible in order to make Elance a fair comunity for freelancers and customers.”

ELANCE DOESNT HELP FREELANCERS, ONLY HELP CUSTOMERS
- The customer didnīt understood the Project that he had requested and it took time understanding it.
- The customer use to go to vacation and didnīt replied any information or requirement because he didnīt verify the workroom on Elance
- His IT guy also used to go to vacation and didnīt understood the job and also delayed the Project considering that we provided instructions.
- The customer didnīt read neither followed instructions of software update, or installation considering that we explained on repeated times, we even sent walkthroughs, etc just like it shows on the workroom
- When the date was getting closer for the customer to do the release automatically, the customer choose to change the term and if we didnīt accept them he filed a DISPUTE just like it shows on the system and we had to accept them out of fear to avoid receiving a bad feedback.
