We have had a company build our website in Joomla but the work has not been completed, due to the fact that they did not understand the brief. They have also made an unusual set-up with the template which baffles me. I am looking for a company/contractor to finish and fix the site.

“My first experience on elance was a disaster but luckily I met Joomlauk. The developer was very professional and understood my requirements straight away. He was an excellent communicator and I felt that our project was in good hands. The project was very complex so we did go out of schedule but the result was worth it as he worked to a very high standard. I have already recommended Joomlauk to others and I will definitely use him again!”

“This project was a complete disaster. We provided JasApp with a thorough website specification, photoshop and illustrator files, templates and a html site to be transferred into Joomla.
Not only it was very late but it didn't work, not even close. We would get major queries the day before a deadline if not on the day. I spent a lot of time redirecting them to the specification document. Thinking it was a language issue, I then provided step by step screenshots of the different users using the site. I made everything visual (and not a representation of the site, it was exactly how I wanted it to look and work). JasApp was not able to reproduce what I gave them. The biggest frustration was the time I spent checking their work, reporting back why it didn't work. They'll say it's fixed and I'll go through the same process as it still didn't work. Very time consuming! No one was checking what their developers were doing. They gave us the impression that they understood the brief, were very polite, professional and friendly in their communication which gave us hope. We were not a difficult client and didn't make changes. They weren't even able to transfer a html website to Joomla so that it looked the same or close enough.
I gave up and asked them to refund a fraction of the cost, hoping that another freelancer could pick up the work. One of the requirements was no hard coding unless it was really necessary. The whole site was pretty much hard coded which meant that I had to start the whole project from scratch. I couldn't populate sections of the site or add a page, and it was no longer a CMS which you can update: and yes I have used Joomla before! If I had known this I would have asked for a full refund. I have created templates in Joomla before, I'm by no means a Joomla expert, but I know the basics and they don't. They shouldn't be allowed to create sites in Joomla! They are probably excellent coders but they are not Joomla developers! Not recommended!”
