We do not pay elance fees for awarded bids. That is expected to be baked into the bid.
We do not put money in escrow for projects.
We do not renegotiate price during a project.
With respect to the bidding process, please do not ask for special payment considerations or why you should be paid a substantially varying amount or way from competitors. This will probably remove you from contention.
For translations, we pay on a per word basis only and assume you will be on retainer for anything up to the elance minimum.
Our projects typically require a past sample of work or with respect to web design, a mockup of work that is topical to the web design subject.
All web work is done at the following payment schedule 20% up front, 20% upon first
draft, 20% upon final draft, the remainder once
loaded. Payments are always made on or right after the 10th of the month. This is criteria for acceptance of any project.
If we have done business together in the past and you raise your rates substantially (greater than 5% in one year) We will not continue business with you.
When negotiating price, making the statement that lowest price may not always mean highest quality will eliminate you from consideration. No prima donnas, please.
