Experienced CFO: Start-up to multinational, Turnaround to high growth

I am an enthusiastic, versatile, hands-on and strategic senior executive with experience in financial management, quality assurance, governance, and operations management for private and public companies in many industries, sized from very small to extremely large, and across 3 continents. I partner with businesses to help them grow and succeed; people working together toward a common vision accomplish more. Several clients have derived the greatest value from jointly analyzing their business, identifying easily achievable adjustments, key business drivers to track, and achieved efficient growth, even in difficult economic conditions, without the need for complex sales or marketing. I specialize in 3 areas: ▶ CLARITY, VISIBILITY and EFFICIENCY: I implement accounting and finance systems, or reengineer existing reports and statements, create metrics and charts to highlight and analyze performance, trends and strategies. Clarity of cash flows is an area I consider to be especially important. For a public manufacturer, I analyzed performance in detail (including product, customer, and department) and created tools for daily cash management to achieve a radical turnaround and profitable emergence from bankruptcy. For a power generation company and a public IT and SaaS company implementing new ERP systems and enhanced internal, external and board reporting highlighted performance, improved profitability over 200%, improved cash management, and created efficiency in the preparation and filing of reports. ▶ FUNDING, CORPORATE TRANSACTIONS and DUE DILIGENCE: I create business plans, financial models, investor information sheets and packages for raising debt, equity and grant funding, as well as for acquisition, restructure and disposal of entities and assets. When desired I accompany clients in meetings and manage data rooms for due diligence. For a construction company I closed two government grants and 7 debt instruments to fund capital projects. In aerospace I renegotiated, and later redeemed, all secured debt, raised new funding through unsecured lines of credit, two equity raises, two government grants and a large interest free loan. For an oilfield service group I negotiated and closed on the sale of a subsidiary, and in logistics merged entities. ▶ PROFITABILITY and RISK: I develop strategies for profitable business and for identification and management of risk. I drove growth and strategic realignment, added clients 2.5 times larger and doubled ongoing services in a financial service group. For a not-for-profit entity and a public company I introduced a risk assessment process reported to the boards of directors. For an international public group I development and implemented policies and procedures to ensure consistent standards, reporting and practices among subsidiaries (including bribery, corruption, privacy standards and international law). I renegotiated 26 insurance policies and created methodology to minimize risk and cost.
