We have an ongoing requirement for technical writing specifically for documents to familiarise technical support team members about application functionalities, common issues, deployment theory, etc. this is for several small applications.
The requirement would be to use our template/standards, and interview those required, analyse our support helpdesk for common issues and their solutions, and complete the document (this is to help technical staff, not end-users).
A good example is the Sage accounting system. how does it look, who uses it, where is it usually installed (mini-diagram), common issues, etc.
A technical support background would be useful, to ensure that the output is likely to make sense.
