I'm a university student trying to model air flow at Mach 2.85 (in 2D) over a 20 degree ramp (ie __/ ). The simulation has to be run in ANSYS CFX which isn't able to provide me with the control of grid refinement that I need without producing a 3D mesh (>1 cell thick. ANSYS CFX requires a 1 cell thick mesh to complete a simulation in 2D).
Currently having trying to do the mesh in ICEM CFD. I can do basic meshes (via blocking or generating a surface mesh and then trying to refine the mesh), but barely know what I'm doing and I can't get much help at my university it seems.
So I'd be after suggestions as to how you would generate the mesh and for you to be able to answer any questions I have in regards to any meshing errors I end up having to deal with along the way (I need to do a mesh refinement study).
Hoping you can help,
