Contract offered to develop a Blackberry client application that can request data from a currently running web service every 20 seconds, and successfully display the data in a java application. The GUI can be very rudimentary, and needs to simply display the data as a list of attribute / value pairs.
1. install the Java Wireless Toolkit (2.5+) into an Eclipse environment (3.4.1+) that has been set up to include the Blackberry JDK and associated libraries and simulators that can run Blackberry OS 4.7 code. The simulator must run the code simulating network conditions that EXCLUDE BES and BIS servers. In other words, the transport must be just on the wireless carrier and the public network. The simulator must therefore be configured to send and receive data through the WAP or TCP gateway of the carrier.
