I want a bookmarklet, like FriendFeed's, that a user can drag into their favorites or onto the their browser bar. As they read news articles they can click the bookmarklet and a window opens in the upper right corner of the browser. The window contains a form with the title and url fields already filled in. The user fills in additional fields: author, source, date, category. When they click submit, the information is submitted to a MySQL database via the php form.
This bookmarklet will be used by less than 6 editors/users, but it still needs to be secure, so a login check will be needed. I think php cookies or logging in with their google account would be good.
I have used FriendFeed and I want this bookmarklet to work exactly like FriendFeed's. It needs to work in all the major browsers and also on the iPad. I would it to remember that the user is logged for 3 months.
I'd like to be able to add fields to the form if needed, change the length of time the user is logged in,...
