I have developed a simple utility that is responsible for downloading files from an FTP server and unzipping them. It is fully functional and works on my development machine.
The application depends on two 3rd party dlls: one for the unzipping of the files (Ionic.Zip.DLL) and the other for the logging functionality (log4net.).
Currently, when I build the solution, it get my .exe with the two DLL's and a few other files. What I want instead is a single executable and nothing else.
I understand there is a way to do this using the properties of the DLLs, (such as marking them as Embedded Resource) but I cannot get this to work. When I mark them as Embedded Resource, the application no longer compiles.
There are three deliverables for this project:
1) A single executable, built using only Visual Studio (no 3rd party tools that specialize in embedding DLLs into the exe)
2) A short paragraph of two explaining what was done to the solution to create the exe
