.NET app slow in Chrome/Safari (AspDropdownList w/ UpdatePanel) We have a web application that has a complex, multi-tabbed form. Several fields on the form are 'select-one' and have an 'other' option at the bottom. If the user selects 'other' from the select-one list, the system responds by opening a fly-over, letting the user fill in a few details about the new (other) item. When the user clicks 'save', the system saves that new item to the database, refreshes the underlying page and the 'other' item displays in the drop-down lists. It's a select-one drop down implemented using an AspDropdownList control. There's an UpdatePanel involved. Up til a few weeks ago, clicking from tab to tab wasn't exactly 'fast', but it wasn't terrible slow either. However, we recently started seeing the form rendering incredibly slow on Chrome 26 and Safari. Now, what takes a few seconds in IE and Firefox is taking minutes in Chrome and Safari. We find others online having some similar issues with Chrome 26, but we're unable to resolve. The issue is in the middle of some complex, fragile code we inherited from another development group. We do have a good understanding of the form and the many, varied uses and scenarios, though. We think a good/safe approach will be to find an expert who works closely with one of our developers who is already familiar with the issue and the application. We need an expert .NET/C# web developer to assist our development team in figuring out why this is happening and fix or help provide a workaround. Expert with ASP.NET, C#, AJAX, JQuery Job Description: We're looking for an expert .NET C# web developer. Your responsibilities: - Review business requirements - Perform a technical analysis of requirements - Work with existing team member to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve or provide a path to resolution. - Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements - Contribute ideas for making the application better and easier to use Your qualifications: - Excellent communicator, both written and verbal - Expert .NET C# web developer - Expert JQuery - A work style that is extremely detail oriented - A complete Elance profile - References or an established reputation on Elance preferred
