Script/program that combines two movie files into one side-by-side movie.
Write a script/program that takes two avi files and combines them so that they appear side-by-side. If the resolution of the two avi files is WxH, the resulting movie file should be (W+W)xH. Please see the attached diagram.png for an explanation.
The script should run on a Linux box. I should be able to install/compile it and the necessary dependencies (like mencoder or ffmpeg) on a Linux box. My personal computer is a Mac OS X, so I would like to install it on there as well.
It should be simple to run, like:
./combine input1.avi input2.avi output.avi
If possible, it should work with any movie file.
Bonus points if you can get it to work with ffmpeg's libavfilter overlay. This is becase I have AVI files that have two video streams, and I can split them with ffmpeg, but I'd like to re-combine them using ffmpeg as well, so that they can both be done in one ffmpeg command.
