We'll have a near-final pdf of about a 100-page magazine related to cycling, which is about 65% content (words + images). Some of it is light-hearted stuff, like personal stories, others are related to equipment.
If you are hired:
You'll follow AP-style and our minor style guide and look for typos, spelling errors, and anything embarrassing in the stories, photo captions, table of contents, etc. Any word we write, you'll look over. You'll also pay attention to general layout errors, like misaligned text and cut-off images, etc. We'll provide plenty of examples.
You'll make notations in the pdf via Adobe Acrobat (not just reader, the writer), and then send back.
The turn around would have to be FAST - 48 hours or less. Hope to deliver the file by Wednesday or so.
If you kick butt, there will be plenty of more work like this in the future. I'm tempted to pay a small bonus for each error found, offset by any really bad error missed (from bonus money).
