My nonprofit produces a monthly magazine, as well as quarterly and annual reports to stakeholder groups, marketing collateral and fund development pieces, with material submitted by a variety of authors. I seek someone who can fill both of these roles on an intermittent, per assignment basis:
COPY EDITOR: Review submissions (see above) and proofread for grammar, spelling, usage, etc.. as well as provide light to moderate editing for clarity and flow. Make each piece as clear and concise as possible, without losing the author's voice. Our contributing writers are generally competent, so I need an experienced editor whose expertise extends beyond mere proofreading. I also need someone who can work with fairly tight turnarounds given the challenge I have in getting people to submit their stuff on time.
WRITER: Work from varied source material to craft 200-1000 word articles for the magazine. Some light Web research and fact checking may be involved.
