I'm looking for a quick curbside consult prior to beginning a new business venture.
I basically just need a (sound) professional opinion whether or not a business idea would legally infringe on a copyrighted form.
This obviously isn't an extensive job, but as our business needs grow, there will be other work to do, so let's start a relationship!
Here's the details:
-- I'm an ob doc by trade
-- myself and most obstetricians utilize the attached form to keep track of our OB patients. The American College of Ob-Gyns licenses this form and docs pay a yearly fee to reproduce it.
-- my business idea is to produce a digitized version of this form... basically a highly formatted Excel spreadsheet. The digitized form will not be an identical copy of ACOG's form, but the nature of our business requires that most of the same information be included... essentially all the information on the form is important.
