I would like in spreadsheet format a list of publicly available Amazon Machine Images. This list can be retrieved from a public API provided Amazon called the describeimages API call. Documentation for this function can be located at:

  [obscured]  /AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/index.html?ApiReference-query-DescribeImages.html

If you are good at Excel, and read this little bit of documentation, this will only take you 1-2 hours. The deliverable consists of the following:

1) The spreadsheet, of course. The columns I seek are: imageId, imageLocation, imageState, imageOwnerId, isPublic, architecture, imageType, kernelId, ramdiskId, imageOwnerAlias, name, description, rootDeviceType, rootDeviceName. Again, the API will produce a response with these items in XML format, so it is a matter of mapping the XML items to columns.

2) A 15-30 demonstration via GoToMeeting about how you were able to structure the query.
