I have all documentation of a board I had made with my old company. I need to develop a new board (v2.0) based largely on this board.
Version 1.0 (Controls 192 Digital I/O, communicates via RS232)
Version 2.0 (I want to control only 96 I/O, communicate via RS232 or TCP/IP and to have an expansion header.)
I need the v2.0 board to use the same mounting holes as the v1.0 board (or at least 4 of the 6 of them). I need the v2.0 board to have a header connector that would later allow a "daughter-card" to be plugged into this card. This header connector you could consider a third form of communication. In other words, the board needs to be able to be communicated with via RS232, TCP/IP or the Header connector.
The purpose of this board is to provide logic control of up to 96 digital I/O. Each position may be designated as an input or output individually via a "setup string" communication. The "type" of I/O (input vs. output) is to be stored on board in non-volatile memory...
