We currently support TAPI in our software (  [obscured]  /Features/TelephoneIntegration.aspx). This identifies when an extension makes a call or receives a call and automatically updates the user's status to reflect that. We support server-side TAPI through a TSP installed on the server or client-side TAPI with the TAPI driver installed locally on the client. With more phone systems supporting SIP and the proliferation of hosted providers, we are hoping to add support for phone providers that support the SIP protocol. Even internally, we switched from a 3COM NBX to Aptela and no longer are able to take advantage of our "on the phone" feature. We are open to alternative solutions. Info on TAPI can be found on the wiki:   [obscured]  /wiki/Telephony_Application_Programming_Interface
