Short codes (also known as short numbers) are special telephone numbers, significantly shorter than full telephone numbers, that can be used to address SMS and MMS messages from mobile phones or fixed phones. The Common Short Code Administration (CSCA) handles the registration of the actual number. This ensures that your short code works across each of the carriers that are supported by the administration.

Not all carriers support texting to short code numbers.

I am searching for the following answer and solution. Would it be possible to create a smart phone app that would allow a user on an network that does not support short codes to do it anyway? Some kind of a leap through a digital and/or physical component that would enable short code texting?

Thank you in advance for any support or ideas you may have to offer.
