We have a new development underway. The hardware design is almost complete and software specs will follow when full schematic finalised.
In essence, the system comprises two elements with a wireless link between (1 way RF at sub-GHz only). There is a PIC running each half of the system. Each PIC will need to program and command the RF chip. Other components are not yet finalised but these four chips will form the basis of the embedded system to be programmed.
On the Tx side, a PIC Micro PIC16L1934 44Pin TQFP needs to:
- Initialise and program Si4012 Sub 1GHz RF Transmitter
- Run simple LCD display (16 pins)
- Allow the user to enter values using 3 buttons and the LCD display (menu is 1 level deep and has 8 settings)
- Read memory on startup
- Sense voltage pulse and count rising edges or inter-pulse delay (there are other techniques including analogue comparator, but this is the default option)
