This is Karen from LCubed, you helped us a little while back with the mergetool and also more recently on another project with Pauline.
I am wondering if you can help me. I am performing some data manipulation involving very large files, the mergetool is not able to handle it (I think there are just too many records). So instead I am using vlookup for doing the lookup function but I am having a problem with it not working correctly.
I believe the problem is due to the key I am using which is called MEMID and it looks like a number but contains letters and is case sensitive. I thought VLOOKUP would work for this but it is not.
I provide more details in the attached document.
My objective is to either have a mergetool or a formula that will allow me to successfully merge on this key.
Is this something you can help me with. Ideally I would like to resolve it this week.
Thanks for your assistance.
