I require an engineering design for a heat exchanger that connects to the exhaust of a Caterpillar 3516LE engine. The heat exchanger would consist of a 500 mm or larger pipe that contains stainless steel tubes in it and have flanges at both ends. The exhaust flows through the tubes. We will be flowing a refridgerant R123 through the shell in counter flow design and it will heat up and turn to a vapor. The exhaust backpressure should not exceed 1"-2" water column.
You can go to [obscured] /pdf/exhaust_gas_brochure_v1.pdf
to see a design which is made for smaller engines and water rather than refridgerant. Please see the attached drawing for temperatures and pressures.
